A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

Mostly art related - teaching or visiting artist, commissions, places like Anthropologie sell reproductions of my work.

2. Why do you make art?

It is how I make sense of the world. It grounds me. It connects me to the past and the future. It gives me a voice.

3. What inspires you?

The observed landscape, objects and fabric in my studio, my crazy involved dreams, mythology.

4. What/who are your influences?

Giotto, Titian, Van Gogh, Matisse, Braque, Bonnard, Dove, Marsden Hartley, Nell Blaine, Fairfield Porter, Gretna Campbell, Nick Carone, Sylvia Plath, Frank O’Hara, Rilke.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Artemisia Gentileschi.
